ELEVENTH STATION: JESUS ENTRUSTS THE DISCIPLES WITH THE UNIVERSAL MISSION

P  We adore You, O Risen Christ, and we bless You.

A  Because by Your resurrection, You have given life to the world.

R  From the Gospel according to Matthew (Mt 28:16-20)

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Reflection from a speech by Pier Giorgio to the Catholic Youth of Pollone  (7/29/1923)

Finally there is the apostolate of persuasion. This is one of the most beautiful and necessary. Young people, approach your colleagues at work who live their lives away from the Church and spend their free time not in healthy pastimes, but in vices. Persuade those unfortunate people to follow the ways of God, strewn with many thorns, but also many roses.

P  Let us pray

A  Oh Father, you inspired Pier Giorgio with the zeal for the apostolate of persuasion. Inspire us with the courage to bring our friends and family members to Christ, especially those who may have fallen away from the faith. Amen.
