In this presentation, we see that St. Louise developed her collaborative leadership style as she visited the confraternities in the French provinces. She mentored and enabled all those who shared the Vincentian mission to maintain proper focus on the “why” and the “who” of their service.
Sts. Louise and Vincent: Collaboration of Two Widely Differing Personalities
Louise de Marillac would always place a high value on Vincent de Paul’s advice and support. Yet neither her spirituality nor her leadership style was identical to his. The friendship between these two widely differing personalities would prove to be of incalculable significance for the Church and for the poor. See the presentation “Brought Together According to God’s Plan”.

October 27: Establishment of the Sisters of Charity Federation
October 27 is the anniversary of the establishment of the Federation of the Sisters of Charity in 1947. The founding congregations of the Sisters of Charity Federation trace their roots to the first sisterhood native to the United States, the Sisters of Charity of Saint Joseph’s, founded in 1809 by Elizabeth Bayley Seton (Mother Seton) near Emmitsburg, Maryland. Spirituality of St. Louise: the infant Christ, and Mary
Meditation on the Incarnate Word led Louise de Marillac quite naturally to Mary, His mother, to whom she would consecrate the “Little Company” on October 17, 1644 (anniversary is this Saturday). See the new presentation based on a Vincentian Heritage Journal article by Sr. Louise Sullivan, D.C.

St. Louise de Marillac’s Life As a Parable
Parables such as “The Prodigal Son” are central to Jesus’ teaching method. A parable can be any story which is intended to teach lessons or principles, and they often involve a character who faces a moral dilemma. This is how Fr. Dennis Berry S.T. presents the life of St. Louise de Marillac to us… creatively he highlights certain themes in her life so that we can understand, relate, and follow her example. Now with accompanying links to the Bible for easier reading.
Vincentian Reflection on Mercy and Justice
Fr. John Maher, C.M. shares this presentation which challenges us to “Look with love… move with mercy” as did St. Vincent.
St. Vincent and God’s Providence
“If ever a man saw God’s providence in everything, it was Vincent.” – Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J. This theme is illustrated in today’s video presentation taken from the writings of St. Vincent. In this year of Vincentian Collaboration, St. Vincent reminds us that the ultimate collaboration is our ongoing collaboration with God.
