St. Louise’s Collaborative Leadership Style

In this presentation, we see that St. Louise developed her collaborative leadership style as she visited the confraternities in the French provinces. She mentored and enabled all those who shared the Vincentian mission to maintain proper focus on the “why” and the “who” of their service.

October 27 is the anniversary of the establishment of the Federation of the Sisters of Charity in 1947. The founding congregations of the Sisters of Charity Federation trace their roots to the first sisterhood native to the United States, the Sisters of Charity of Saint Joseph’s, founded in 1809 by Elizabeth Bayley Seton (Mother Seton) near Emmitsburg, Maryland.
