THIRTEENTH STATION: THE APOSTLES AND MARY AWAIT THE HOLY SPIRIT

P  We adore You, O Risen Christ, and we bless You.

A  Because by Your resurrection, You have given life to the world.

R  From the Acts of the Apostles (Act 1,12-14)

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city. When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

Reflection from a letter written by Pier Giorgio to Antonio Villani (3/26/1923)

During these days when we gather to pray in the tranquility of this house, I will also pray for you, and please pray a lot for me, so that, if unfortunately in this earthly life we shall have to be far apart because of the necessities of our careers, at least the day that the Lord will choose, we’ll find ourselves together again in our true Homeland to sing the praises of God.

P  Let us pray

A  Oh Father, you inspired Pier Giorgio to take time out of his active life to pray and reflect on Your goodness. Help us to spend more time in prayer with you and to remember in our prayers the needs of our families and friends. Amen.
