As reported on Famvin News, the well-known German painter and priest Sieger Köder died on February 9 at the age of 90. Here we offer a reflection on Vincentian themes found in his famous mural of Frederic Ozanam in Graz, Austria. Art lovers may recognize the artistic influence of Marc Chagall in Köder’s work. According to Gemma Simmonds, CJ, of the blog Thinking Faith, the artist’s use of color, stroke and texture expresses “…a warm, inclusive ecclesiology, very much in line with that of Pope Francis.”
