Collaboration helps Vincentians to reach out to more of the people we serve, the poor. The organisations St. Vincent de Paul formed, the Congregation of the Mission, Sisters of Charity, and the Daughters of Charity, worked well together, to achieve the goals they set for themselves. An African proverb says, ‘If you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far, go together’.
On our own we can not be humble, but with the Holy spirit and Christ, the Master of the poor, we can. If our eyes are fixed on Christ and not on ourselves, anything is achievable. Christ Himself is humble, and so should be His followers. St. Vincent de Paul, pray for us.
Thank you for sharing that, Paulinah!
This is a wonderful presentation with inspiring quotes. Perfect for reminding us that charity can be more effective when we collaborate with like minded organizations.
Thanks Jack, and feel free to use this presentation at meetings etc.
