On August 23, 150,000 volunteers in the AIC network celebrate the foundation of AIC, which over 400 years later continues to be active and full of life.

The gospel call echoed by St. Vincent to the first Ladies of Charity in 1617 continues. Today’s needs are comparable and equally challenging. Our responses must be empowering and aimed at changing unjust systems. The mission of the Ladies of Charity is to work together against all forms of poverty, especially the poverty of women and children.
