The Halifax community was founded in 1849.

Upon receiving your comment we checked the SC Halifax website https://schalifax.ca/our-story/ where there’s a timeline showing that yes, the first sisters arrived in Halifax in 1849, and they became an independent congregation in 1856. In this case the presenter, Sr. Judith, used the date 1856.
